Scope of Policy

At PikLuk LLC, protecting users' privacy is important and is our highest priority. We have adopted the following policy to ensure that you are aware of our use of personal information and to advise you of your choices. This policy describes what types of information we collect about you and the child accounts you create. We also describe how this information is used.

For the remainder of this policy, the word "user" describes a person, typically a parent, who signs up for this service. The words "child", "children", and "kids" are used to describe the children accounts under the user. Children are not allowed, in as far as we can prevent it, to open accounts on PikLuk.com directly.

Data Collection

We respect the privacy of you and your children and do not collect any more personal information than is necessary to enable you and them to participate in the service we offer. Our policy is that we do not share, sell, or in any other way distribute any information collected by us about a user or their child accounts to any third party.

With respect to the type of information collected from a user or parent, we only require that you select a username and password to create an account. We also ask that you provide a valid email address when signing up for our Premium Service in order to communicate invoice, payment, and other account management information. In the free service, you may choose to provide an email address that we can use to send you friendly password reminder upon your request.

With respect to the type of information collected about children, a user can create children accounts with a year of birth, a gender, and a name. The name can be an alias or anything else the user wants to use to identify that child account. Child accounts are available as a convenience to the user to setup different environments for each of their children.

Child Usage Statistics

The PikLuk Browser, in conjunction with the PikLuk Service, logs information about child usage. This information is only collected and sent back to the server when the parent agrees to the service by consenting to our Terms Of Use agreement at the time of sign up. The information collected includes, but is not limited to, websites visited, amount of time spent on websites, and the times when the PikLuk Browser was started and stopped. This information is tabulated and available for use by the parent. Based on the usage patterns, the parent can then further customize the selections of websites which the child can view. They may also modify the list of authorized email addresses with whom the child can communicate. This information is also used, in an aggregate from all users, to rate a website according as to its actual usefulness for children.

Revoking Parental Consent

At any time, a parent can revoke their consent to allow PikLuk LLC to collect information on their children accounts by simply deleting the children accounts to which they would like to discontinue consent. Through the "Dashboard", the parent has full control of which of their children they want to allow to continue using the service, and can delete said children account in the case they want to discontinue statistics collection.

Browser Cookies

We use a common browser technology called "cookies". Cookies are pieces of information that a server sends to a client browser which are then stored on a user's computer hard drive. This information is intended to help the user use our site more effectively and efficiently. For example, when a user logs in to their account, we store a cookie on their machine that lets our server know they have already logged in and thus we do not need to ask them again for their email and password repeatedly. Once they close their browser and after a period of time, that cookie, or piece of information, expires. The user will notice that when they use our site again, they'll be in a logged out state.

IP Addresses

We collect and analyze traffic on our web site by keeping track of the IP addresses of our visitors. IP addresses are unique numeric identifiers that are assigned to each computer browser accessing the Internet. An IP address, by itself, cannot identify you personally.

Privacy Policy Changes

PikLuk LLC will occasionally update this Privacy Policy in response particular circumstances and developments. When we do post changes, you will notice the new change in bold print.
